Stay At Home Mom Tired of Being Poor
Today I'm on the hunt for something that I can do from home to make money. My husband is working very hard, every day, to support us while I stay home to raise our children. We have three children, two boys and a baby girl, and it's been a challenge to live solely on one income. Several times over the years I have despaired about our circumstances because there is never quite enough to go around. I'm regularly torn between staying home with my kids and going out and getting a job in order to help out with the finances. It's struggle nearly every time a bill arrives and there is no money to pay it. We are a wholesome family; there are no money-eating or immoral vices here like gambling, drug use, alcohol addiction, porn or anything like that. The bulk of our debt is due to old old credit card balances and a vehicle loan. We don't do family vacations, we rarely eat out, we rarely see a movie at the theater, we just rarely do anything at all because of the cost. After the bills are paid, there is usually about $150-$200 to get us through the next two weeks, and that needs to cover not just groceries, but gas for the cars as well. I am beginning to wonder if it's good to be a stay at home mom when there is so much that that our kids are missing out on because of the cost. They don't do sports or any kind of camp if there is a cost involved, they aren't learning to play any instruments, they don't have the cool "game" systems (which probably isn't a bad thing), they don't go to Disneyland or Magic Mountain or anything like that. We are not living the "American Dream", which for me would be to simply be able to pay the bills, afford groceries and gas, and be able to take my kids to Disneyland or something fun like that. We are scrounging to get by and the stress of it is wearing on our marriage and on our children. So I'm on the hunt. Today I saw something that might work and I'm willing to give it a try. I don't totally understand it, but I'm going to try.
